1 Internet Client?

I was told we need a PC set up off site at someone's house by Friday.  I am wondering if it would be better from a SCCM point to use a VPN connection for the SCCM client or an Internet client.  VPN relays on the fact he needs to be connected to the VPN to see our network, and I believe the internet client doesn't need the VPN.  I will need to push around 3-4, 5-6 GB packages over the course of the year. What is everyone's thoughts?

For just one box, I'd go with the VPN.  Plus that user probably wants to get access to shares or other services too.
